Congratulations, Antonio Baker: Detroit Coaches Hall of Fame

Our athletic director Antonio Baker has been inducted into the Detroit P.S.L. Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame — recognized as one of the best ADs in DPSCD and a great coach in his own right.

The Cody Comets family is proud to congratulate our athletic director, Antonio Baker, on his induction into the Detroit Coaches Hall of Fame. On April 12, the Detroit P.S.L. Basketball Coaches Association formally enshrined Coach Baker — Detroit Cody High School — among the most respected names in the city’s basketball history.

It is a fitting honor for a leader who has given so much to Comet athletics. As athletic director, Baker has built and steadied programs across every season, from basketball to cross country to track, making sure our student-athletes have the support, structure, and opportunity they deserve. Around DPSCD, he is widely regarded as one of the very best athletic directors in the district.

But long before the AD title, Antonio Baker was a great coach. He earned this recognition on the sideline — developing players, winning games, and shaping young people into champions on and off the court. The Hall of Fame plaque is a tribute to decades of that work, and to the countless athletes whose lives he has touched along the way.

From all of us at Cody — the coaches, the athletes, the families, and the community — congratulations, Coach Baker. Your induction is well deserved, and we are honored to call you a Comet. Once a Comet, always a Comet.
