Cody Comets fans went home in high spirits Friday as the football team defeated the visiting University Prep Panthers 52-0 in a non-league battle.
Cody Comets fans went home in high spirits Friday as they watched their football team triumph over the visiting University Prep Panthers, 52-0, in a non-league battle.
The shutout gives the Comets a 2-0 record on the season and builds momentum heading into their next challenge. Cody will travel to Central High School in Detroit to face the Falcons in a Detroit Public - Gold battle on Friday, September 11.
Central also enters the matchup with a 2-0 record after defeating Lincoln of Warren, 38-0, in its most recent non-league battle. With both teams unbeaten, the Comets and Falcons will meet in a highly anticipated early-season test.
Cody’s 52-0 victory showcased a complete team effort and gave the Comets faithful plenty to celebrate. The team now turns its attention to Central and the next opportunity to represent Cody on the road.
